Experienced Rider Course for Ticket Deferral?

Can anyone tell me if the MSF Experienced Rider Course is considered a valid MOTC in Texas for ticket deferral (ticket issued while operating a MC)? I can't find reference to MC classes on the Texas Education Agency site.

I figure that it would be better than sitting through a driver safety course and may save a few coins on insurance. Been riding 30+ years so I'm not anxious to do the basics course. Thanks.

it can be, depends on the judge. you have to ask for it.

FYI, have to have a valid MC license to take advanced class.

Thanks. I tried that but they don't know either. They suggested calling and asking the schools.

I guess what it comes down to is whether or not the MSF provider issues a "Uniform Certificate of Course Completion". This is the standard proof of completion that must be sent to the court.

Do you know if these are issued for the experienced course?

I went through this same mess. If you get a ticket on a bike and try to get it off your record you have to take what the courts only refer to as "Motorcycle Defensive Driving". They will not tell you any other name for it, they will not tell you where to find it, and a Google search brings up exactly squat. I called 15 defensive driving places in the area and none of them had ever heard of it. I called city hall they say they don't even know exactly what it is, or where to find out anything about it. They don'y know if its BRC, or ERC or WTF it is. I had to end up paying the ticket because no one knew anything about it or would work with me. Just another way police/cityhall trying to screw over bikers.

I took a deferral on my last ticket I received on my MC, they just told me a defensive driving course must be taken. I took regular Defensive Driving online for $25 and sent in the certificate, much cheaper

I would suggest taking the Advanced course if it is allowed though, never hurts to learn more
