Accident on Barker Cypress

I just saw a driver down on Barker Cypress in front of Valero by I-10. It was a gray Suzuki hayabusa. Apparently it crashed to a car. The good thing is that he had all his gear and was conscience. He did not look bad but the bike did. The paramedics just put him in the ambulance. When I got to the seen, it was to late to help with the bike. Prayers for him.

I am having trouble understanding something...I am here in San Diego at the Naval Base. I can see chit loads of bikes and hear even more throttling it out as they drive by.... I see bikes just sitting unlocked on curbs or in the middle of the street; in the middle of the night nothing stolen and only hear of bikes wrecking when they hit the cannyons too hard. I was born and raised not too far from here, so I know that freeway traffic runs twice as fast here than it does in TX. So why are there almost riders down and bikes stolen almost every day in Houston???

probablly has something to do with the fact that california has traffic laws that bring attention to the fact that bikes are on the road and texas does not

Yeah, I agree, it also might be that people are more likely to be held accountable for their actions and that the fact eight out of ten times if there is an accident, it is the cages fault and delt with a little more harshly. Ohh, not to forget...this is California...where you can sue any one for anything.

I agree - I've ridden in CA & TX, I do think that legal lane splitting hugely increases the cagers' awareness of bikes.
