Nobody else mentioned it yet so I will - but you better pull the oil pan and clean the pickup screen of clutch debris. Gixxer 1k's are notorious for taking out the crank and rods after a clutch meltdown if you don't take this precaution. It won't cost anything but a little of your time and is cheap insurance against buying a motor.
Just drop the pan, remove the pickup (2 bolts) -its the funnel looking thing with a very fine screen inside. spray it down well with brake cleaner or similar then button it back up.

VERY GOOD ADVICE, another racer friend of mine, mentioned the same thing and I intend on getting that done...thank you so much

Hopefully this weekend i'll be back together

I forgot to mention that..... Usually, after every two clutch packs, its a good idea pull the pick up and clean it. Also make sure you change your oil more often if you are racing a lot, that helps get the clutch fiber OUT of the engine in the first place. I never run over 2k miles on an oil change and if I am dragging it a lot, I change the oil every 15-20 passes.
