Unhappy Well it finally happened 2 me.....

my 1st night back out 2 drag race in about a month or so & I cooked my 1st set of clutches....

I'm !!!!! I was racing this dude on a really nice 06 GSXR 1k. I won the 1st race which was extremely close until I out mph'd him in the top end & won!! :HC: But he came back crying wanting action back cause he said he "missed a gear" .

Went back 2 make the 2nd pass, took off & it wouldn't give me any power when i was shifting, just stayed in the reds the whole time. Pulled back in took off my oil cap, when smoke and a distinguished burnt smell came pouring out, i knew it!

Not money I wanted 2 be spending right now.....I need a sponsor or a mechanic who'll work for

If ur a mechanic I'll probably take it at this point..

I already needed:
sprockts
chain
strap

Now add 2 that:
clutch mod/clutches
oil change

I'm looking at about $600 on the parts and then the labor!

Yeah i'm being told, since they're blown, i might as well fully consider putting this in or find myself replacing em again in a month or 2 doing this stuff. I'm assuming it is some sort of dohicky that disengages the slipper clutch which is really helping the eating up of the clutches in drag racing.

I'm not even sure yet if it includes the clutches themselves and maybe it's just a different kinda springs and or if it's something i need on top of the clutches. I know it cost about $200 or $300. I'll do my research tomorrow!

its possible all you need to do is "activate" the slipping mechanism by getting thinner steel plates and springs without as much tension. this is the case on the kawi zx7 factory "slipper" clutch that doesnt slip at all

"activate" the slipping mechanism or "DEactivate" it, i was under the impression the 06 gsxr's slipped clutch was engaged, which is what the problem is, and i am a girl so i'm probably a$$ backwards in understanding what's going on so bear with a .
