what's the problem? many times, is mmore cost effective to get another one than to fix it. I have a load of parts for different brands /models in case you need something.

Sorry I am on here on my phone and had to put it to charge. The laptop started of just randomly shutting off. then I turned it around to remove the battery and try to run it just off the power cord and it was still shutting off. so I decided to check the screw making sure that the hard drive wast lose. One screw was so I tighten it a 1/2 turn. Then I tried to restarting it and it made a small pop well the whole laptop powers up ecept for the screen now. the button light up like normal but no screen. I was thinking of wiring it to the TV to see if it might just be the lcd inverte that went out but, I have read a few threads where people where saying that the hp pavilion dv1000 came out with a faulty motherboard. So I was thinking of gutting it out and making one from scratch, if I couldn't get it fix for a decent price.

well if the MB is bad it might have a factory recall or somthing...call HP and see what the deal is. also for the shutting off it could have been over heating.

my alienware did it all the time ...and over time it can kill the board.

but check on a recall.....HP does get alot of em.

if you get the lcd working try and format the HD and do a fresh install of windows.

Is it under waranty? Most likely you need to pull the top panel off where the keyboard is and reseat some things. Do you travel with it regularly? If you are like me when I travel with mine, which is daily, things tend to rattle loose. You will be suprised how flimsy the connections are for most of the devices such as the LCD and keyboard can be.

^ That is where I came from but not what I am. For one to understand me one must understand the sanity that the insane possess and sane fear. You must accept the reality of endless daydreamers and have a heart that beat with the sorrow of those who never feel sadness. To understand me one must dwell in the darkest side of humanity long enough to know that there is never true darkness, just never enough light.

P.S I tried checking ever connection I could find and all or on pretty snug. So today I'll go find out if its still under warranty if not then I guess I have no choice but to look for a new one
