ebay and amazon have other types. elemental designs, scosche, fatmat, hushmat...

i used stuff similar to this
http://www.amazon.com/Elemental-Desi...721000-2024811

easy to work with and cheap enough compared to dynamat that i could put two layers on.

screw dyna mat.....

dyna regular is garbage, dyna extreme is good but way pricy...

http://www.secondskinaudio.com/ is the best choice...

try to stay away from asphalt based sound deadeners like dyna original, they stink, melt, fall off. Or save your money and get roofing mats

i dont have as much exp as this guy, but agree with his tests and assumptions....

http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/

once again, stay away from asphalt based matts (such as e-dead) and stick to butyl.....unless you hate your car...

With your better-than-others attitude, I'm not sure why I feel compelled to help out with info, but oh well, what the ....

Quote:
I had done some research previously and had decided on RAAMmat from http://RAAMAudio.com. Rick at RAAMAudio was extremely helpful and I'm very happy with the results. The method Rick recommends is to sound deaden with the RAAMmat, then cover the entire installation with a thin layer of closed-cell foam called Ensolite. After getting it all installed and beating on the underside of the floorboard with a wrench, it's definitely different!"
and
Quote:
"Actually, it was about a roll and a half of RAAMmat and about 4 yards of Ensolite. I have some left over to do the doors, once I have power to move the windows up and down... I didn't mention it before, but the Ensolite is actually glued to the RAAMmat.

I chose RAAMmat because it is butyl-based as opposed to asphault-based. The Asphault stuff has been shown to lose adhesion with surface temps over about 160 degrees where the butyl stuff is good to approaching 300 degrees. With a dark-colored car and South Texas heat, that 160 number didn't sit too well with me."

and
older raamat was straight asphalt and sucked, newer raamat is butyl with asphalt filler. Better but still not great....

You def get what you pay for, and our climate is pretty demanding. I wouls stay away from asphalt and butyl - asphalt filler matts...

second skin at full price (from manufacture) is less than half the retail price of dynamat extreme and a bit less than I can find dyn extreme on ebay. Don't know where to get it any cheaper....but sometimes it pops up on car stereo forums...

as for speakers check out woofers etc.....a while back they had some sweet deals on cdt speakers among others...

good luck!

I bought a lot of the material from Second Skin Audio and I liked it. I still have some left over. It made a huge difference in my old truck.
