Need help with a new fuel pump, bike isnt starting!!!!

i put a new (used) fuel pump in my bike tonight and now its not turning on, wtf. Ive checked all the little things(kickstand, neutral, kill switch, etc) when i turn the key to "on" the cycle sound starts but will stop instanly, prolly like 1 sec. My question is, is there anything i didnt do when putting the fuel pump back in or do i need to let the fuel sink in to the pump, since it was dry, and just wait til tomorrow to try and start the bike again. Any advice please. Need it up and running asap!!!

I'm sorry sir, what was that you said?

No really though, that really sucks :/: I don't know much about bike fuel pumps but there are a couple things that could cause it on a vehicle. Is there a pressure regulator? Is it hooked up right? Did you have a manual when hooking up the new(old) pump? If not, can you find one online and go over your process to be sure you did it all 100% correct. Has the pump ever worked for you, or did you just install it today? Was it tested before you bought it?

Yes i did everything i was supposed to, put all of the plugs and bolts back in the right spots, I didnt test the pump to see if it worked, just installed tonight. What i think it is, is that there is no pressure in the lines.
