Motrax SUCKS!!

I'm sick of this sh*t, yet I don't know where else I can get some of these type products...

I originally bought a set of Rizoma Zero turn signals about 6 months ago. Never got to installing them, and when I finally got the chance to do so, I lost one of them. That sucks. I got my bike taken apart, and only one of my signals is where I thought I had left them. I still have no idea what happened to that other signal.

So i go to Cycle Gear for a cheap set of Motrax turn signals for about 20 to 30 bucks. It was one of the nicer ones with an amber colored tip on the sides. Went back home, and when I hand tightened it onto the bike stem, the thru-bolt just shredded the rubber stem on the signal... so I couldn't tighten it. Went back to Cycle Gear to get a replacement... no problem >> I get great customer service at Cycle Gear!!

Go home, start installing the replacement signals... got everything wired... put tail pieces back together... one of the signals don't work I'm an idiot for not testing them first.

Go back to CG, and tell them what happens... no problem for refund/exchange, but they don't have any left of the style I bought. I look around for something else, and find Motrax Tinycators, which are metal-bodied and would fit great on my bike! I figured these are 50-something dollar signals, so they must be good. Go home, install the first one... test it... works good. Take out the second one, and as soon as I take it out of the package, the wires fall off!! F*CK!!! Well, they actually fit real well in the tight spot I want to have turn signals, so I go back to CG, tell them what happened... I get another set. Go home and install... they both work great, and looks great! Got them on my bike now, no problem.

Well I also bought a liscence plate light that mounts with double-sided tape. Install these under my tail light, and they worked fine. This was more than a month ago. Today, I take my bike to go for its inspection... and guess what... that friggin' liscence plate light doesn't work anymore.

I know it's the light, because I tested the circuit and all is fine.

Chaparral sells the same products under the names Liteworks, Flush Mount, and Shock Racing. Be warned, and don't bother. They're all made in China, I think, and likely from the same factory.

So... who makes quality turn signals and accessory lights besides Rizoma? I'm still gonna get a full set of Zeros, but I need a liscence plate light that I can rely on.

Rob was the license plate light an LED light? If so they usually hold up very well. I would ever go back with a incandescent light. I think the signals I have on my XR are Motrax and that things got some huge vibrations. They've lasted over one year so far. At cycle gear they have an LED license plate light that's in a mounting bolt that you actually mount the plate with. That's what I used on the 9'r. I still think the best you can get are the Rizoma's that's all I'll put on my 919.

K&S work well, and on the high end, Watsen Design.
I stock multiple styles of the K&S ones.

Yeah, they're LEDs. It's the one you saw and made a positive comment about. The problem with these China made is they can't solder the wires on right! Some work, some don't. I haven't had any problems (so far) with the last set of signals I had exchanged, and they are the only ones that will now fit where I want the signals placed. I need to figure out a location for the Rizomas (and I agree that the quality of Rizomas are the best I've seen). I wish there was more than just one source for Rizomas. PJ Parts is the only US Distributor as far as I know.

Flip, you're right about Rizoma products. They rock, big time. I know there are some others trying to get distributorship for Rizoma right now. It's hard to be patient, but it's coming.
