Keeping her in my prayers. When my brother in law was diagnosed with cancer and his medical insurance wouldn't cover all the treatment, we realized that every little bit adds up, every little bit helps.

Thanks. She has to have screws put in both ankles/tibias? tomorrow and have the infection biopsied. If it is clear we are out of the woods - the ortho will drain it and clear her to come home this weekend. If the fluid is cloudy or puss... not good and I'm not sure, but they may go directly to the cleaning it out and "Bone Graft" proceedure? Just very fast. To fast for it all to sink in because today was just supposed to be a consultation with surgery scheduled for the end of summer.

I'm not sure about everything they have to do, but tomorrow will be her 8th surgery. She was insured for the first 7 but this one is going to kick their butts...

medicare/medicaid

We're no longer married and their father is, sadly, a crack head. We don't know where he is or if he even has a job. We've tried getting them insured through my bf's job, but no-go. System is whack!

ugh that sucks, sounds like my deadbeat dad.

Luckily we were fortunate enough to have my mom work @ the VA which has pretty good insurance.

So you can't even get on your bf's insurance as a "domestic partner?" :/:

What about just finding some insurance that you have to pay for monthly? I know it's expensive, but anything will help :dontknow:
