Yeah I lived in south florida for 3 years it sucks, a bigtime judge for the state, his daughter was killed because of a street racing accident she wasn't apart of and the dude went nuts. It was the first state for mandatory 1 year sentence for first offence, wich I almost did if I didnt have a good lawer...

true, but if the cars are spread very thin... or if traffic is doing 90, then i should be able to do 90 without getting a ticket.... after all, that would be more safe than doing 70 when other traffic is doing 90
First one would seem dependent on the leo, and often turns out to happen just that way. 2nd one, I'd be willing to bet the reality is the mass majority do not get speeding tickets for going the same speed of the rest of traffic.
I'm sure we'll get some come here and stating they were and did...but reality would reveal there was more to the 'stop' than that.

i don't know... i didn't say it was a perfect solution. i'm just saying that 5 years jail time for speeding 30mph over the posted (not neccessarily a reasonable posted limit) is .

p.s. In regards to the bill/law...

I think it MAY be excessive, saw another part where it seemed that reference was in regards to third offense... and I think it should apply across the board equally and not just motorcycles in regards to revocation of license.

i do agree with you on some of this... and i don't speed much... unless there in NOBODY on the road that i can see. there may be a cop hidden in the bushes 50 feet off the road that sees me open it up and then i have 5 years in jail... that is BS

You ain't going to jail. You know you are running. I think someone would have to be a complete racer x to pull over when the consequence of speeding is going to jail.

I don't advocate running from the police, but the guy has a point.

...or give thanks to the self-absorbed, cranial-rectal inverted asswipes that acted in manners that brought the problem and requests for solutions to be put forth.

the ironic thing is, the whole back and forth of action/reaction creates a continious chain of escalation.

it just like an argument... starts off talking back and forth, then get to yelling, then yelling in each others faces, then hitting, then kicking, then someone pulls a knife, then the other pulls a gun... what next a tank?
