As far as synthetic, most of todays SS bikes have hard chrome rings and finely finished nikasil plated cylinders.
Synthetic oil can inhibit / prevent the ring seating process.
I typically recommend waiting 3-4 oil changes before swapping to synthetic on a street bike, roughly 7-8000 miles.
