2006 Kawawsaki zx 600RR

My 1st bike is a 600RR ZX Ninja. And I love it to death. I'm glad I didn't get a 500cc or anything smaller. I can see how someone can grow out of those. You have to learn off want you want. I respect the 600 and never exceed out my limits. I even plan on taking some track leasons to get better. I ride everyday roads and hwy back and fourth to work. I stay in Katy and ride to se Houston for work. Get what you want and have common sence on the bike. I'm a noob also.
Bruce Lee taught my ninja himself .

06 SV650

I agree with the common sense statement, but you have to keep yourself in check. My recomendation on a first bike would be outside of most of the others. I got my SV650 as my first bike and I couldn't be happier. Yeah, it could go faster, but why do I need to? Is it safe to on the street? NO! It keeps me out of trouble, even when I don't respect it as much as I should, and it keeps me entertained. I've almost been riding for a year now and have 11,000+ miles underneath my belt.

BEST ADVICE given so far, though, is to take the MSF (I'd go to awesome cycles if I did it over again), and talk to the instructors about it. The MSF instructors have great recomendations as far as your choice in a bike and won't tell you to only stick to a 250 or not to get a 600 SS bike. My instructors asked what I'd be using my bike for mostly and some choice questions about me and helped me determine what would be best. I chose my bike, partially, by their recomendations of something that I can be safest with that I won't get tired of fast.

You've got several options, but just remember that this may be your first bike, but won't be your last (most likely). Make your decision on what's smart for right now and not exactly on what you want right now because ego isn't a good thing when buying a bike.

Just my .02.

"Any man worth his salt will stick up for what he believes right, but it takes a slightly better man to acknowledge instantly and without reservation that he is in error." -Andrew Jackson
