Salvage title question...

Ok from what i know a bike gets a salvage title when it has been wrecked and either a police report was made or insurance had to pay out some on it...is that close or right? Also if i bought a bike that has a salvage title from like michigan and i brought it to texas and wanted to get a clear title for it is that hard to do? Do i just have to get it inspected and stuff and they will remove that salvage title listing? Thanks

Ryan

I dont know what your priority is .. getting the bike registered or having a clear title on it. But if it is getting a clear tittle, then go get it registered in Oklahoma. They wont inspect the bike or anything, they will easily issue a clear title and then when u come to texas, if u want u can get it transferred after 6 months and you will recieve a clear title. But there is a problem.

The salvage thing will never be gone from the VIN #. The title will be all clear but if insurance companies ever try to pull the VIN # it is going to be shown.

Re: Salvage title question...

It will always be a salvage bike no way around it and if u try and sell to someone and hide this info damages to the buyer is usually 3 time the price...............

Re: Salvage title question...

i bought a bike from florida with a salvage title. got the bike inspected and was sent to me with a rebuilt title. i went to the courthouse and got the title transfered to my name after i had insurance and the regular blue inspection sticker. then i could get the title and it doesnt have anything on it that says rebuilt or salvage.
