broken collar bone club at msrh

so i haven't rode a 1000cc on the track since my noob days about a year ago....

let's just say the 1000cc stole my nuts, and left me with a broken bike, broken collar bone, possibly a fracture on the top of my hand, and a little asphalt burn as well as a good bruise on the head and ego. goin back to get some xrays tomorrow probably. i still got full movement, so i'll be back on it at msrh this sunday.

had a nice little highside on the back straight coming into diamonds edge i'm guessing around 120-130mph. glad i'm still here typing this....SEE YOU BOYS AND GIRLS NEXT SUNDAY ON EASTER WITH BUCK'S (LMS)TRACKDAYS!!!!

thanks for everyone's help on the aftermath!

get better soon. I see now that the broken collar bone is the most common injury among bike riders. I did not know you had a literbike.

Tony, two different doctors told me I would have to just let the bones heal as they may and deal with any compromises down the road. I'm glad my orthopedist I followed up with agreed that a plate and screws was the best choice for a fast and most complete recovery.

Dr. Mark Sanders!

Sorry to hear about your accident. Man, I know what you are gonna feel like in the morning! Did you see my morning after pic?

yeah i saw it.....mine looks similar right now, except a bruise the size of a softball on it

i still have ALMOST full movement of my arm, just the bone is poppin out a tad bit, so it should heal fine without plates and stuff......if it gets worse, i'll get some platework done.

how long before you get back on the bike mike?

not even close. mine is broken pretty bad, displaced, and shards of bone. Basically I have two spears and a bunch of needles in me. If I move wrong I stab myself internally. The bruising over the wound is pretty much gone. I have bruising on the bottom of my chest but I don't think it's a bruise since there is no pan there. I think it's pooled blood from my collar bone cutting me. I'll ask the Doc about my theory on Monday.

It can take 5 minutes to put on a t-shirt if I move wrong. I've pretty much got it figured out now and I don't hurt myself too often. I'm not about to get on a bike when I know how easily I can loose use of my left arm from pain.

You might be better of than I was/am. I get my surgery Monday! I can't wait, this sucks.

Be careful if you get on the bike soon. Evaluate yourself this week and leave your riding options open.

I have broken my collarbone twice. once bad and once a lil fracture. main thing to worry about getting on the bike too soon after that is that the bumps and vibrations get realy annoying. actually causes your hand to go numb. and that bump will stay with you for life.
