helmet brands

what are the differences between helmet brands? *I for instance own a shoei, but i got it cause it looks good. *I'm thinking about getting a kbc helmet for a friend of mine. *While i'm shopping, everywhere recommends that i get a shoei or arai. *Will it all protect the same? *I'm willing to pay a lil more if that means that she'll get better protection just in case.

Re: helmet brands

Well can u put a price on ur knoggin??* The diferences are in the material they are made of. whether or not they have GOOD VENTILATION, and how heavy they are. I like my Arai but have been looking at others with better ventilation.

Re: helmet brands

nothing wrong with kbc helmets. i believe they are actually a sub company of shoei. helmets usually come down to personal preference. looks, weight, how it feels on your head all are what i look for in a helmet. if it is dot and snell 2000 approved then i'd say it is plenty safe.

Re: helmet brands

Both Shoei and Arai are good, safe brands, I have a Shoei myself. If it's for a passenger put your mind at ease and go ahead and spend the money on a good helmet.

Re: helmet brands

I find it surprising that girls would like that helmet. Figured something with Teddy bears or flowers on it would be more desireable.
Anyways. Don't worry about brand, just buy one thats dot & snell approved. After that, all your paying for is fit and finish.

I disagree, that is not all you pay for. Comfort to include ventilation, weight, optics. Also the material that its made of.

Find one that is comfortable, fits correctly. The cost although prohibited in many situations can be a determining factor, use this rule of thumb. How much is TOO MUCH to spend on protecting your head.

Re: helmet brands

all snell and dot helmets can save your head.did yall know that valentino rossi wears a Vega brand helmet? your paying for the fit and finish.

fit means vents, head comfort, straps, cheek pads, etc.

finish means the design, shape, and brand name.

if you got the cash and want the look go for a high end brand, if not, just get anything DOT or Snell right:
