My normal insurance co (USAA) recommended Progressive overwhelmingly.

Oh - when I checked - the '08 Bandit S was major bucks though (like 1800 or so minimum)... being new, I guess...

Very happy with progressive - but I have yet to make a claim.

I use State Farm for my RC51 and pay roughly $500 per year for full coverage. I just bought a 91 DR650S dual sport and the Farm wants $784 per year for just liability. They said that bikes 800cc and up go through a better, cheaper underwriter than smaller bikes. They actually told me to go through Progressive or Dairyland for the 650, but I found Geico to be the cheapest at $155 for the year.

Some of this is based on zip code and out of your control. You must be in one of these areas. That is mostly likely the reason if you have a good driving history.

Other than that, keeping it under a grand a year with a known company will will put you in the game and should be your mark.

Good luck with it...

Sport bikes ARE rated higher than cruiser's just because they go a little faster and such are at a higher risk to crash, and are stolen more often, so their prices match their risk.

Those rates are outrageous, try SF, we'll write as long as u have no tickets/@fault accidents, and have a class m. Hit either me or Tuan up for some quotes!

I would say the rice cookers should only run $800/yr or less and that's FULL coverage with PIP & Uninsured. The cruiser will be even cheaper.

Zip codes and age do play a difference, but not $2000 worth!
