insurance rates on naked bikes!!! WTF>???

I got quoted the following annual rates for liability+comprenensive (no collision):

Z1000: $600
FZ1: $2400
919: $2400

WTF? Why Z is so much cheaper? For comparison my shadow was $200 annually.

no... that place is on the other side of the planet from me. back to topic so I don't get a finger wagging... try state farm. The seem to have the BEST prices for motorcycles. Especially the "sporty" kind. cruisers are just rated very differently that is why there was such a price jump.

Sorry if I hit a soft spot. I think he realizes the cost is going to be ridiculously different than his cruiser, what he's not understanding is naked SS vs. regular SS bikes. Sorry, should have explained myself a bit more instead of being so blunt.

hmmm.. how's your record? I also heard there was a State mandated increase in rates coming next month.

I pay like $30 a month full coverage for the Bandit thru Drive. But it isn't classed as a SS.. the FZ and 919 shouldn't be either but they may be?

Age may have a lot to do with the cost. I'm 38 and don't pay near as much.

Try Dairyland they do OK on some bikes.

When I first got my FZ my previous ins co wanted a similar amt and my Dairyland agt told me that meant the other co. was saying "We will ins you bike, but we don't want to".
