computer help wanted. . .virus protection?

what's the best anti spyware software i can buy or download and why? I have some spyware on my computer that i can't shake(i don't know about computers). Free is preferred but I'll pay for Good protection. thanks for looking. feel free to post up and links or software you use that actually works

get adaware se, spybot search and destroy, windows defender, and avast (antivirus). all are free. i run all four of those on all five of my computers.

I have Zone Alarm Pro as a Firewall and for Spyware i use Spy Bot Search and Destroy. Definitely try spy bot search and destroy though!

adaware se= free
spybot =free
windows defender=free
no adaware=free

then i paid for
track erasers
zone alarm
registry fix

on two laptops and one PC

redundancy is the way to go, then back that up with being very cautious about what you download & install etc.

I use Norton on my XP systems, and AVG on Vista. Also Spybot Search and Destroy for spyware.

I don't think ad-aware se (free) is available anymore, mine said it was now unsupported !!
Now ad-aware 2007 which is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow
I could be wrong though,
remember I'm the guy who just learnt how to resize his pictures :/:

The truly sure way to get rid of spyware and virii is to wipe your HD and reinstall the OS. You may try window's system restore which may or may not work.
