It should go without saying that I hope your friend recovers well.
What happened is unfortunate but the way I see it, it was completely avoidable. I hope that others learn from this example and some good comes of it. I'm glad to see you are at least getting yourself off of two wheels since you recognize the hazards of bar hopping and riding.

I already replied to the for sale ad but im sorry again to hear your buddy got hurt. I hope he heals up and yall both learned a lesson even though thats probably the last thing you want to hear right now. I hate to hear about peoples bike accidents especially when the wreck wasnt their fault.

In this case, it was completely avoidable by either wearing gear or simply not drinking and riding. There have been enough bike wrecks to know better by now. This is just plain ignorance IMO.

That's why I can't ever own an old classic Harley or Indian. I love how they look but I'd just look silly riding it in a full face helmet and gear.

I rode my friends Harley with a full face on and it made the ride quite comfortable. I also rode it without a helmet and I must say they helmet felt sooo much better. You can still look cool on a Harley with the proper gear on. You just got to do it right. Harley has some nice "Real" motorcycle jackets....add some gloves and a nice full face and you look cool in my book.

I hope your friend learned a valuable lesson and he is lucky to have crashed and lived afterwards. A lot of Harley riders don't get that chance.

I've seen quite a few cruisers with full face helmets ... granted none of them were riding Harleys, but still ... I think a gloss black full face looks cool with a cruiser... way better than a half or 3/4 helmet.
