so whats yalls advice? just pay it ($205)? court it and hope cop doesnt show and it gets dismissed???!! or what?

Striped sections next to a handicap spot are for wheelchair loading/unloading.

pay it dude, you can't win that one. usually lines mean don't park here, but hey what do i know?! since it's not a moving violation, i don't believe it will cause you any points on your driving record.

haha, sounds like you just got a LEO having a bad day... or just doing his job. get prepared for the old dinosaurs on this site to tell you to man up and pay it, cuz you're in the wrong!!!!!!

Hey take it take to court and say your bike is a really fast wheel chair. Nah, I say since its not a moving violation just try to take it to court the worst that can happen is you have to pay it anyways. On the other hand
no cop = no fine

still hoping i can get a view/response from j-row

but yea, i know now its for loading/unloading, and i guess it just didnt really hit that i shouldnt park there since i see bikes parked like that all the time...

and even if i court it and he does show...that only results me paying the ticket, not like i would get an extra penalty...

if you feel it is worth it to waste a day at court over $200 then you should show up and hope the cop doesnt. i would just pay it though.

IIRC cops get paid OT to show up to court...

if you're broke and have some time to spare, go for it.

If you go to court there are usually additional court fees. So, yeah, there's extra penalty. Sucks that it's so high, though. :/:

I say, go to court... but prior to the date...reschedule... then prior to that date... reschedule again.... then show up.... most likely they won't be there... but that's just my experience...

if you take this route make sure you go before 5 days of your court date to reschedule

with my understanding with parking tickets in houston, there is no specific court date. and cops do not show... you can just go there anytime before 45 days and either dispute it... or pay it... i would say go dispute it.. it takes like 10 minutes.. and parking is like 3 bucks at 1400 lubbock... just go there and tell them what happened , you might get it reduced to 75 like me.. worst case scenario.. they say no. and u pay it..

If possible, I recommend trying to get your court date moved to a Saturday. I did one at the Lubbock St. courthouse on a Sat. afternoon and was in, adjudicated, paid and out in less then 30 minutes.

In my opinion... it's up to how much time you are willing to spend fighting the ticket. It's going to take you a full day of sitting in court before you can plead "not guilty." which will get you another court date where the officer has to show up. That will have you sitting in court for another day...hoping that he doesn't show up...plus will add on additional court fees. Some officers write tickets and never show up to court... others write tickets just so they can get OT by going to court. You'll just have to hope that your's isn't one of those officers.

so in the long run... you can spend two days sitting in court...missing work...and maybe end up paying $300+... or you can just pay the fine. Like it was mentioned before...this is a parking violation not a traffic violation...therefore nothing will happen to your driving record or your insurance.

The choice is yours.
