What to get..

Ok..so I just sold my 03 zx7 a short time ago..It was my first bike..ever..and apparently it was to big for me to start with. I'm looking for suggestions on what I can get as a good starter bike. My main problem is throttle control..I really miss riding..

i think the sv600 or the katana would be a good choice ...you might regret getting a 250 ninja if you have a little bit if riding experience

+1 I've been riding less than one year and would love a more powerful bike. Not necessarily to go fast, but when the wind is pushing me, I can't even go the speed limit on the freeway. Plus, it's really difficult to pass anybody- regardless of their speed, because my bike (even with the NOS) has no . It's a girl, really. :/:

I would rather have the power there to use if needed then not at all...as long as you don't get all crazy just know your limit...you will be fine with a 600...ride it like a 250...

With ANY bike you get... up-shift a gear or two and the power will be WAY reduced (you can actually reduce power to the point that you kill the bike).

You don't have to ride the thing at 12,000rpm all the time (which would make throttle control more difficult)... Unless you're at the track searching for the lowest times, up-shift!

And if you have problems with starts, get a twin-engine bike (Ninja 650, Suzuki SV650, etc...) since they have more "bottom-end" power/torque and take off with less work.

Bikes like the gsxr600, cbr600, zx6, r6, etc. have most of their power up top (above 8-10 grand) making them harder to start from a complete stop...
