allen are you saying my spedo is wrong. When your busa took a shyt I was making some kind of attempt to follow you. Mine showed 170 while I was trying to chase you. Your gps says 177. So what your saying is there was no way mine was right? My geared 600 was not really doing 170?, I thought I was really doing something. Shyt I think I'm lucky to get 140 out of it.

FTW I have ridden an 08 r6. that is the fastest 600 i have ever ridden. feels as fast on the lowend like my 03 r6 with all my mods (too many to list) and top end was way better than Claire's cbr.

With bikes the newest is always the best.

600- r6
liter-cbr

and the 08 busa owns everthing that has ever existed.

gps

maybe they tracked the r6 on laser or radar to make that claim.

gps is accurate but that still is (a civilian version) off by some, but better than a speedo.

There is a kid in one of my classes that claims 260mph on a Katana 1300 when he took it to a track.

Every single time I think about his statement of fact (which was recorded on GPS not to mention all the other things wrong with his statement) I laugh until I cry.

Talking

well it seems eveyone have their own "test" or gadgets to determine true speed. well imo,i don't think i'm doing 120 when the speedo says it,but i'm not doing 90 or 100,i would say around 110-115. now i just picked that speed out blue. i come to this conclusion because of this. i work in the er at utmb. i commute from lamarque to the island. when on my bike i avg. 85-90mph on 45 south. at those speeds, the cars seem to be sitting still. my bike is stretched and lowered and -1 in the front and yes it's a 600(no flames please). now when i drive my bone stock chevy extreme truck i avg 70mph. cars are passing me like i'm doing 60. i dare someone to tell me my stock truck is off that much.

Didnt yamaha claim a redline that hit 17500rpm in reality only hit 16500? i could careless about actual top speed but wait till all the mags runs a radar on it. Yamaha might have to do another buy back when the squido's realize its 5mph slower than advertised lol

Your truck is off that much.
Cars/trucks are usually off by 3-5 mph at best even when going as slow as 35 mph. It also goes up on an exponential curve.

I would have thought that yami in that article was radar tested. How else did they calculate the speed down to tenths, hundredths of miles?

UH..........time and distance calculation? Basic stuff. I am still amazed by all the top speed BS out there. Bigger question is can the Yami get off the line this year? 06-07 was a dog on the starts. Even better question is how are the ebrakes since it's so freakin' fast?
For the guy who says the R6 is the .........you should ride an 07-08 CBR and rethink your statement. The CBR is dominating WSS and AMA FX.
