but yes either a pinched fuel line, partially plugged fuel line, vapor lock, or electrical prob......if it is sputtering then dying id say fuel/vapor. if it is just flat out fine then dies.....my guess electrical.

screw it.....its too much work...ill give u $500.00 like it sits and you can just go get a new bike!

Yep thats what I was gonna ask is what does it do when it dies ?? One of my older bikes would die when it got warm due too an electrical issue....lights and everything would still work but wouldn't crank, start or run. Where abouts do u live ??

Check your fuel line, coming out of the tank into the filter/pump. If it is old, or the wrong material, it will suck flat and quit.

Had the exact same problem on my nephews ZX9. We ended up using fuel injection hose and a hard plastic 90 degree elbow to eliminate the kink.

Could be the vent in the fuel cap. When it runs for a few minutes, it starts to pull a vacuum on the fuel tank and the engine dies.
Then you let it sit and the air seeps back into the tank and it mysteriously fires right up... for a few minutes.

Maybe check the nut between the seat and the handlebars?

No I'm j/k ... Check the battery/connections, if it's fuel injected it might not run without juice.

Usually that has symptoms of running like the bike needs to go on reserve, not just dieing like that- but that is a good thing to look at first (the battery and connections).

Check the simple things first, make sure you don't have any wires grounding out anywhere and you don't have pinched hoses/ lines.

My nephews ZX9 was the same way it would run, then die. Then we would lift the tank and see nothing wrong, and it would start right back up.
