State Safety Inspection

rain or shine, no matter the weather. I love my commute. I'm pretty hardcore about following the laws and requirements on most things... I realized (as a new rider i didn't realize this before), that the state requires a safety state inspection. I got it done @ goodyear for $14.50 vs $39+ for a car.....

I LOVE MY BIKE

Now the poll question, i have to know this, the mechanic said in his time there, i was the first bike to bring it in for the inspection.... SO

I try to keep mine up to date. Cops hate sportbikes enough already without all of them riding around with out of date tags/inspections etc!!

Texas law states that you have 90 day window from the date it expires to get it replaced. If you get a ticket for not having it, then you have 'reasonable time' to get it taken care of (usually 5 days in most courts). 2005?? The judge is not going to let you off if you go and get it the next day.

As someone else mentioned, just riding a "sport bike" is enough reason for added scrutiny, so why give them another reason? Just like the cars, the bikes get renewed every year.

Yeah, it's dumb, but it's the law. Don't like it? Move to Canada?
