Tom is correct. The caffeine will dehydrate you. I can't get through a track day without it though. And it drops my lap time a bit too. Gatorade or Powerade helps a lot with hydration.
The anti-inflammatory does help a lot, but it also thins your blood. Making it much easier to bleed to death if you get in a serious wreck. I wait to take it after the track day is over.

Yeah man, some folks have a hard day if they don't have some caffeine- it's addictive!

If you have to have Gatorade or some sports drinks, it should be cut half/ half with water or drink the Gatorade 1:1 with the same amount container or water. The sugars and sodium in the sports drinks will also work against you (unless you moderate the intake).

NAN-SAID (or non-asprin anti-inflamatories) like Advil do not thin the blood like Aspirin (or Tylenol) will. These non-steroidal anti-inflamatories (as long as you can take them, and of course in moderation, depending on what your Doctor says) can be taken and won't thin your blood enough to be a concern for severe blood loss. A normal, healthy person who is able to take Aspirin or other anti-inflamatories would have to take a LOT of it to thin the blood enough to worry about severe bleeding or blood loss or hemorrhagic emergencies. Alan is right though, you should only do things or take medications that you know you can take- that goes for pre-treatment items too.

What about Soma(anti inflamatory does it thin your blood? ) The reason I asked I threw out my back and doing a trackday monday. He gave me celebrex, soma and 10 hydrocodones. I know I shouldn't take the hydrocodone at the track(even though it would be fun) but either the soma or celebrex makes me feel weird. So which is that(making me feel wierd?) Would it be bad to take soma while doing the track?

Haha, yeah, that tape had an AMA superbike race previously recorded on it, so every time the camera would skip and not record any new data the race highlights would show though...

That camera has since been replaced, the new one actually records a nice stable video, so next time around will be better.

Soma is very strong, I'm talking about OTC stuff like Advil for anti-inflamatories. Yeah, definitely stay away from any medications that have an effect like "it makes me feel weird".

Celebrex and Soma are great if you can take them- great for when you're not supposed to be moving around or controlling a 150hp motorcycle on the track...
