Yea go to the sears tower. Well worth it. You can actually tell the building is moving. I have family there if you want me to try and find out the best sites to see. Spend time walking downtown. It is neat.

I lived there for 10 years...what kind of stuff you looking to do? Artsy stuff? Pub crawls? Navy Pier? Shedd Aquarium? Art Institute? Ice skating in Millenium Park? Theatre stuff-Blue Man Group?

Make sure to take a ride on the "L" too!

Downtown is amazing compared to this sh*thole we live near..it makes downtown Houston look like IMO...It's still cold there, so make sure to bundle up...

thanks everyone so far! yeah all this stuff sounds good. we are staying downtown at the hyatt. we cant travel too far since we're too young to rent a car. so its going to be trains and cabs. im going to look into these things and see where they are relevant to where we are staying. i want to go to the bulls spurs game everything else is up to her. can you recommend any good restaurants downtown that we do not have here in houston.

I used to live there as well back in the day. I'd recommend the downtown area and the stuff the other guys recommended. Pick up some deep dish pizza's and italian beef sandwiches while you guys are there!

wow chicago is one of my favorite places after california! I travel there a lot.

Unfortunately Sears tower closed the observation desk but you can go to hancock building. I'd recommend taking an elevator to the bar instead of buying a ticket to the observation deck. At the bar you will get a drink and will get a chance to look around for the same price.

the zoo is great. when we went we saw something, i can't remember what!, humping a huge plastic barrel. they had a "hole" cut out of it and some carpet or something glued to it. i guess to make it look like something he would want to hump??

we had a blast when we went, but we had kids so everything i could offer to see probably wouldn't interest you lol.

Comedy type dinner places

http://www.dickslastresort.com/

http://www.eddebevics.com/

Cool places to check out for scenery and decent food:

Michael Jordan's restaurant:

GREAT fast food (that doesn't taste like fast food-my favorite place)
vvvv
http://www.portillos.com/ (cheap too)

Really, almost any Irish Pub (and there are so many it's crazy) will serve good food and have awesome atmospheres. If it's semi nice, I suggest a water taxi down the Chicago river (if you're going the weekend of St. Patty's Day, you picked a good time to go...the pubs are crazy!!!!! they also dye the Chicago River green for St. Patty's)

Most Pizzaria's are good too (except the nationwide chains)! make sure to get deep crust with the toppings on the bottom and sauce on top....

Hot dog stands are good too if it's 2 am and your stumbling back to your hotel room

Also, if you're into the night clubbing scene, you wanna hit up Rush and Division Street. This is where the most bars/clubs are located although most charge a cover....Bar Chicago, Bootleggers, Mothers,

gay bars are up north on halsted st. i actually like going there but to a blues club www.kinsgstonmines.com. It's not a gay bar. They have some of the best blues in the world. Chicago is like new orleans of the north. And considering that new orleans is screwed by katrina, Chicago is really #1 in blues. Kinston mines and b.l.u.e.s. on halsted are very cool clubs. With a student ID you can get in for free to kingston mines sun-wed. That's another reason why i go there. Finally if you are worried about catching gay virus while being on halsted st. you can check out blue chicago. it is in dt on clark st.
