most aftermarket headers only work (fit) with the same companies aftermarket exhausts. you can't just buy a header and put it on to any exhaust. you will have to buy a full system.

now with that being said, why do you feel yoshimura is your best bet? there are several other companies out there that are of much better quality. what exactly are you trying to accomplish?

leave the headers stock. the yosh, or any aftermarket header, will not bolt up to that exhaust. like i said, when you run a header, you have to run the rest of the system as well, they're not interchangable. you're either stuck with what you have now, or you can go with a full custom setup. either way the cost isn't going to be worth it.

What is the application? Road racing? Drag racing? Or are you just doing it because someone told you you should?

Personally, on a street bike, I wouldn't waste the $$ on a full system. Unless you're looking to free up a few hidden hp for racing (the legal kind of racing on a track), it's just a waste of money. The cost won't justify the benefit and vice versa. Besides, each bike is different, and each will make power differently. What works for one guy even if he has the same year/ model, may not work well for you at all.

Here are some great quality exhausts:

M4
Leo Vince
Akarapovic
Yoshimura

Any one of them are going to make a great exhaust for your bike, and will free up a couple ponies for you.

If you get on a CBR specific forum, they'll be the ones to tell you what has worked best for them. I'd get on fireblade.com or 1000RR.net or something like that and ask those questions. You're not going to find a whole lot of owners of your bike here, but on those other bbs, you'll find almost everyone has one.

Oh yeah, be very leery of the guys that make claims of huge hp increase by just changing their exhaust systems. You'll only see a couple hp difference after tuning.

Huyzel has D&D slip ons, you should PM him and ask about real-world performance gains from the pipe & PC3.
