Question about Transfering title

When signing the 130-U form, and the title when transferring the name, would it be ok to put a friends address in the address box? Let's say the situation is that you don't want the title mailed to your house because of parents seeing that you purchased a bike. What would putting a friends address in the title box do? Is that just to mail the new title?

if you're in the situation where you live at home, and are buying a bike behind your parents back, you're a pretty son. man up and at least get your own place before you take advantage of your parents like that.

While I agree that you know you shouldn't do this, the BEST thing to do would be to go to the tax assesor/collectors office and ask. They deal with title xfers everyday and know what to tell you.
You should NOT come to an internet forum and ask people you don't know questions that have legal repercussions.

yea its just the address and all the registration for the bike will go.

Your moral delema about your rents and the bike is your concern alone.

Nah, you can register it wherever you want. But you'll have to renew it in the same county you register them as. I can register my bikes cheaper here in Huntsville than I can in Montgomery where my folks live but my home here is temporary so I register them out there.

Hiding things from your parents is no good, especially a motorcycle. Don't you think you're being a bit selfish?

Same as knocking up your girlfriend - they gonna find out one way or another. So you might as well be the one to tell them.

1. Tell your folks about the bike... how old are you? You must be asian and/or desi.... man up, they are gonna think twice about it since you already have it...
2. Title can be mailed to any address, but the 'friend' your mailing it to, better be a good one as regardless of whose name is on the title, it is who has possession of it that determines owner... ask the cops...
3. Go to the tax office and make certain...

You can have it sent to another address and does not have to be the same on you DL ...But that is the address that is going to be on the title.

I don't know why everyone jumps into so many conclusions on this forum
My mom is well aware about me having this bike.. she provided me with the little bit of money I had left to gather up to get the bike. My dad on the other hand doesnt know. The reason my mom told me to get it is because she knew that once I had the bike.. she could start convincing my dad to let me get it.. later shell bring up the fact that I already have one and she claims that it will give me a better chance of him being cool with it. Mom told me not to worry.. be fine once she talks to him for a while.

I live large at home with mommy and daddy because mommy makes the most amazing food at the house. But for the main reason, the way our "desi" culture works (for the most part) is that the kids live with their parents until they are out of college/married/etc, and in some cases, still living in the same house after that. I was raised in a way to where Id rather live with them than to move out. I've even had the luxurious option to move out of mommy and daddys house, WHILE mommy and daddy PAY for all the expenses. The way I've been brought up, personally, tells me that id rather live with them for now.

Which is why I didn't ask for anyones opinion on my moral delema, simply asked what would the procedues be in order to mail the title to a different address. Only reason I gave that example was to claify my situation.

I don't mean to be a douche to anyone with the way I responded to this, I just dont like it when people start assuming things like this.

Thanks for all the help though
