I'm asking if some peeps that have more experience on the NE side would PM me some decent roads in the area.

I'm in Kingwood. I've been on several MH group rides to the NW side and down to the SW side so I know some roads out there but they take an hour or more to get to. I've been on hours long scouting trips between 59 and 45 up to and around Lake Livingston and only found a few roads that were worth heading to, but I'm looking for more and closer to home maybe east of 59.

I'm not looking for people to build me routes, I just want some roads so I can get out real quick on a Saturday and let the bike lean a little bit and enjoy the open road without too much traffic.

If you'd rather not pm me, maybe we can meet up in the area and head out for a quick run sometime. Saturdays is when I can usually find time since Sunday I'm tied up with church stuff for a few hours in the middle of the day.

Umm.... there's really nothing out here... not curvy and if it is curvy not really a good road to be leaning on (badly weathered and/or traffic incoming in and out of driveways near it)...

but... I've just explored like you... so maybe someone else has a different opinion.

I've been on a lot of roads between 45 and 59 from the south end of 1314 up to 356 on the north end of Lake Livingston. Mostly the larger roads though since it's easier to plot a long route that way.

The best road I've found is near the lake and is still about an hour out. I've I'm going to ride that far, I might as well ride to the NW side since I know there are a bunch of roads I can chain together over there. Now if I could find some roads that I could put together on the way to the lake and back, that would be great.

Unfortunately, like HellFroze I haven't really found good roads on this side. I was hoping that someone else had better luck.

I have been on 1485, it was alright. I had to watch out for gravel near the railroad tracks. I think there's a gravel pit or something over there. I've been on 1484 from 105 up to 3081 heading North, but 3081 was straight and boring. Also, for those that don't know, Dabney-Bottom is dirt/loose gravel in some places I backtracked off of it the first time I Google-routed the area. 1725 was recently paved and is a good road if you are out early in the morning before the traffic starts to get on it, great for cruising. Late in the day and you'll sit behind a bunch of cars.

Mic, we've ridden together before... and you live out by me... you should come out when NorthHoustonCBR and myself go out... we do end up riding up to the forest though, most of the time, but maybe we can find something new.
