Having customized and modified a helmet to accept an 'in helmet digital camera' (see my sig). It is the best perspective - you get to look around at things a stationary camera wouldn't normally see.

However you have to sacrifice your helmet a bit to make it work comfortably, I suggest a lowerend helmet ($150-200). Also there are helmet cams that can mount on the outside of the helmet. These are just regular bullet style cameras. I prefer the digital cameras because they have a video stabilizer that doesn't pick up all the vibration and bumps so the video is SMOOTH.

You can also build yourself a nice frameslider and mount the camera on there like some guy I know.

Kodak v705
but
Kodak v570 is the same size and has the same video features/qualities and is cheaper.

Alternatively just search for the smallest digital camera you can find. I think there are some smaller ones out there now.
