Trail riders

Can someone explain the significance of the trail riders? Is it just tradition or is there more to it? I used to work at Hwy 6 & Jackrabbit and it seems a lot of them camp out there under the overpass.

Thanks for explaining it to a Houston newbie..

Yea its a tradition. Its also a blast. i used to do it every year. You tie you a cooler on the horse with a chit load of beer, ride with good friends and people, blare some loud music and cut up and talk. Good drunk fun. You can see some crazy things too.

We'll have to get together and go ride. We have one currently, and will probably have few by the end of the year.

I'm guessing he has lost a lot of weight since then Lol, I have broke one horse but worked many. My buddy (lives with us) breaks and trains horses. It is awesome, and one of these days I plan to do nothing but raise horses.
