Well, as stated before, the "cops" know where the bikes like to ride, and they do selective enforcement (take the Forest on weekends right now)

Just because a certain route is posted, doesn't mean everyone and their brother will run out and haul down it at the first chance.

Or would they? There are plenty of good roads around here, so it would be near impossible to shut them all down at the same time.

i say no. the fear of the cops patroling isnt a problem but the amount of new riderd showing up and hauling is a major problem.

i doubt mods would sticky or maintain something like that here too. too much other to maintain.

yea i wouldnt do it for group rides either. not everyone is the same. some will speed some wont.

but as far as just riding out on your own or with 1 or 2 others i would say its fine.

FYI, there is no such thing as a hidden road, from the cops. lol

Hey that is just my opinion. Maybe just post routes as a general guideline, but not specific route when putting a ride together.

J
That is my thoughts, PM to set up a ride or just not state exactly where you are headed. How many posts have we seen like "who wants to ride the Forest Sunday?"

Or, rather than posting routes, maybe we should post good stretches of roads.. like say FM3090 between 244 and Hwy 6.... ?

hmmm. Guess I need to add a page to my website, and just link to it for those that want to check out different roads...

I for one would like to be able to select my route and then just start off. Looking at map and seeing what looks like a good road could turn into a trail for a DRZ650 instead of a GSX-R600 real fast.

I can't even find poser point on lake Conroe.
Wonder if that is Pappas Ice House on 105? Lot of bikes ride there on weekends, kinda like Yankees up in Carlos....

Google maps is your friend and if that doesn't work find a group your comfortable with and let them show you some good roads. It's better to be with people that know the roads your first time out anyways. Also, people can just post a thread asking for roads and receive a pm's from members.

I just go out and find roads on my own sometimes. But most of the roads that I really like are ones that friends have shown me and that I have gone riding on. I think posting up routes would be a good idea though.

A new rider who is so inclined to haul , will do so whether on a road that's posted here, or a road he finds on his own. If he wants to haul , he's gonna haul regardless.

So, with that said.... Good idea, texlurch I say do it.
