Yeah or nay, posting routes/roads

I know in the past a huge map has been posted with good roads around Houston.

Here's the question. Should we add a sticky to the Events section, for people to post up good roads and routes?

Or should we keep it on the "QT", and just do word of mouth and show newbs?

It isn't like the "good" roads are secret, but I think it would be cool to see routes that people have worked out.

Of course, some people take the time and effort to go and search out good roads, so should that work be rewarded or kept private?

I would like to see turn by turn, with good lunch or break stops, and even time/mileage..

So, what's the thoughts peeps?

nay, shoulda put a poll

Edit: To further my response I think it's a good idea, I just think it would be a mess...maybe there is a better way to have it setup?

Sounds like a great idea to me.
I for one would like to be able to select my route and then just start off. Looking at map and seeing what looks like a good road could turn into a trail for a DRZ650 instead of a GSX-R600 real fast.

I can't even find poser point on lake Conroe.

Ahh weedhopper, little you know.

Mods could keep the chaff and PW out, limit it to routes only.

Would be cool if say it were a sticky and only you(or someone else) could post in it. People would have to email you their link to their map then you could Hyperlink it with a short description of where it is from/to so that the links are short and organized with no bs in b/t

I wasn't even thinking maps, per say.

More like:

start at 105 and 149
North on 149, to 90, right (North)
L on 244, to Carlos and Yankees for lunch

sumptin like that, basic crib notes. Most maps cover too much area and once you scale them down they are pretty much illegible.

Then you can just print out the route for your tank bag, and look it up on the map if you want....

That's pretty much my thoughts.... I don't claim to know "all" the good roads and routes, but I also don't claim them to be "my" routes.

All the roads have been ridden on for a lot longer than most of us have been alive, but it would be nice for newbs and others to be able to enjoy them as well, on their terms and pace.

I do, but not to go too far astray from the question at hand. (or open up another can of worms, as they say).

So I take it you are saying, Yeah.

ummm well if we are going to do the speed limit on those roads and just ride for scenerie, sure why not. but if some one is going to be going through the curves faster than the speed limit i would say no cuz that would most def attract the cops faster.

It would have made it easier for me when I moved here. Especially if it shows the typical meeting places in town.

I really doubt there is a road that someone rides that no LEO's know about.
