Route to Fayetteville from the Southwest Side

To any interested Mod....there should be a list of "Routes and Destinations" page. Part of that list should include places to eat and kick your feet up, repair and parts locations far from the Houston area, attractions, etc.

I'll start with my route to Fayetteville, TX from Hwy 6 at Westheimer/FM 1093:
1) West on FM 1093 and onto the West Park Toolway (WPT) (No EZ Tag? Stay on feeder until it ends)
Continue on FM 1093 to Simonton where you'll hit a zig-zag and continue on FM 1093 to Wallis, TX where you'll take a right/north on Hwy 36 toward I-10

2) Once in Sealy, TX on Hwy 36 turn left onto FM 1094

3) Follow FM 1094 all the way to New Ulm where FM 1094 dead-ends into FM 109 and turn left/south

4) Continue on FM 109 to where it turns into FM 1291

5) Follow FM 1291 into Fayetteville, TX and turn left onto Hwy 159/ West Main St to the square

We ate at Orsak's. The burgers were good and the waitresses didn't know what "import beer" was. I had to point out Dos XX in the beer cooler behind her. We found a B & B and there's a music festival in May and we plan on going. We'll try Joe's next or Keiler's restaurant next trip.

All in all...a good ride. We left at about 1100 am,took our time and were at home by about 415 PM.

Here's a couple better roads for that trip...

Go North on 359 off 1093, thru Brookshire, to Pattison
straight onto 1458 where 359 makes a right
West on either Sealy Rd or I-10, to 36

Instead of droning down 1094, continue on 36 to 949, take a left, and follow 949 back to 1094..

Now we're talkin!!! I think we need to have a "routes/destinations" section, too! Put up the poll to see if we can get this started.
