Like Caligonetx said they are two different colors and lumen producing. If you want a little of both world, you can get the low beam in a high 10k and the high beam in a 5k just FYI. I personally have a 6k on the Low and 5k on the High

how big of a difference do you notice between them?

i work for BMW and don't know what our ballast output is but its all we used to wire up bikes... mine are still halogen

Its not that significant from 6K to 5K it more for just the lumen distance. If I am not mistaken I think the BMW are 4200K.

ebay FTW 99.xx shipped for dual bulb 8000k ive been runnin mine for bout 5 months no complaints yet and ask anyone who rides with me they are bright as $hit

i would recomend getting one shade darker than what you want as my 8000k are more like true 6000k

correct stock hids are mostly 4200k its the projector that makes pretty colors

Yeah mine are extremly bright especially after I removed the blocker plates. Ask some of the people that rode on the Spooky Ride I turn night to day when I turned on the High beam

i need to wire up the other ballast for the high beam so anyone who knows/wants to help me build an extension pm me sorry to thread jack but i got one hid and hallogen high beam not that i need a high beam haha

I just ordered a pair of HID with the slim ballast for $125 from www.starrotors.com.

They look like a good complete set, I'll try and remember to post up when I get them in later this week.

I didnt get a super deal, but at the time I paid $300 for mine. I went with 12k b/c they look like high dollar Benz from from the front.

The only mod. you have to do is to your headlight covers you have to drill a hole for the cables to run in. I didn't do mine like this but here is how a buddy did his.

That kit looks VERY similar to mine.
They only go up to 6k though.
Keep in mind, that price is a Mazda3forum group buy special....

+1 ebay........got mine for 73.00 shipped to me i got the 10k 2 bulbs,2balst no issues so bright you can see people facial expressons and there middle fingers as you pass them (on the oppisite side of the street)

oh i have 1 9006 / hb4 bulb and balast for say $30

If you are trying to get color out of it I suggest going with a high Kelvin, if you are trying to get more light go with a lower Kelvin, because the hotter the bulb burn, after a certain point it doesn't produce as much lumen just color. These are the one I got

Talking Help a brother out for a sec?

What do I need? 06 katana 600

I want the best of both worlds in the settings of. That killer blue lighting which I think its dope on the benzs and the lexus and on noticibly the brightness in being able to see in distance but not to annoy anyone but straight up safety is my top priority and oh yeah have to say again that killer blue too dope lol . So How do I choose the correct/ perfect set. of HID Xenon or who or what brand?

And I see a bunch of numbers h1 h7 and H? So I don't even know how to order these things. Let me know if you can help me out.
