I always inform DMV that I sold my vehicle. There should be a piece of the title that is perforated, you fill it out with the new owners info and mail that to the DMV/DOL

i think that changed in the new titles.. i remember that top piece but in my 2 car's titles and even in my bike title still have that perforated top piece but, there is nothing in the back to fill out

nowadays you have to print a form from dmv website and fill it up then send it to the address stated in the form

That or every car I sold/bought I got a bill of sale from the owner.

You don't have to do anything. Only time it becomes an issue is if he gets parking tickets or something like that.....then you just show them a bill of sale showing you sold the car and you are in the clear.

Call the DMV if you have anything with your old license plate number on it. They will tell you if it is still registered under your name. I had one a guy didn't pick up for over 6 months after he got my title, and I called to find out if he had transferred it yet, and he hadn't. They will only tell you if it is in your name though.

pm me your lic plate or vin number.........i can tell you if its still in your name.

nothing to do....unless its used in a drive-by and the popo knock on your door. then the tollway violations start pling up and tons of parking tickets...ect,ect.

always goto the tax office if you dont know them....my .02

or file for lost title and report it stolen and get it back ....j/j that would be unlawful
