Just go and ask for defered...that's all Paul is going to do anyways. The Asian woman judge there is pretty cool.

after all my talk of not having had any tix recently, i got a ticket for 88 in a 60, which is outside the limit for deferred adjudication (only up to 25 over allowed)

I was going to get a lawyer, but I forgot about the court date until it was just a couple of days away and didn't have time to get a lawyer.

When I called 311 to ask about postponing the court date, they told me that I could go to court and plead not guilty and that would postpone the date and give me time to get a lawyer.

Here's my advice - dress nice, go to court and ask the judge for deferred. if she gives it to you, you're golden, if she denies it, then plead not guilty and lawyer up and let them handle it.

I got deferred from the judge even though it wasn't technically allowed - so I saved on the lawyer and just paid the deferred costs. Do it this way and you find out if you even need to get a lawyer.

I'm tellin ya man. just go in there and ask for deferred. if you don't get it, plead not guilty and then get a lawyer.

or, if your time at the courthouse is worth the $75 bucks then get a lawyer to do it all for oyu.

i lucked into a saturday afternoon court appearance and i was in, deferred and paid out in like 30 min.

we were riding the 50 on washington like 3 blocks away, so i didn't even miss a wheelie

Push back the court date and do it yourself, all youre gonna be paying a lawyer to do is ask the judge for differed which you can do yourself. Lawyers are a waste of money unless you have a street racing ticket.

No it's not, it's just outside the limit for doing Defensive driving. I took deferred on my 9X in a 65 which was well above the 25mph cut-off.

on my ticket from HPD it says that to qualify for deferred you have to be 25 over or less.

this is what qualifies you to get deferred through the mail in houston. the judge can grant it as they see fit.

You have to be 25 or older to get deferred. . . supposedly. I took it at 23, with the only difference being I also had to take defensive driving.
