Curious

With all the thread locking going on lately, why does the "locker" not give a brief explanation of why he/she's locking the thread? In my experiences, that usually quiets the crowd. This doesn't need to hold said mod/admin to an open debate (, they're here to uphold the forum rules).
I feel there's been a few threads that have started because of this lack.

Just wondering, that's all.

in my experience it just adds to the fire.

when we lock a thread, we can list a reason why, only other mods can see that.

The reason should be non-debatable. There has to be rules, and everyone needs to understand. However, sometimes personal opinions can sway people to do things.
I realize that the job of a moderator/administrator is difficult, and must be done non-opinionated. I just feel that a brief explanation of some things would decrease some of the fires around.
I really like this site, especially with most all members local. I just think some things get beaten to death then re-ignited.

Most all of the threads that are locked or get locked are exactly that- issues re-hashed and are beating the proverbial dead horse.

Most of the time, if folks searched topics before posting, they'd probably find the same arguments over and over again.

theres no rule that says we have to list an explanation why we locked it so that's maybe why we don't give you a reason as to why/

off topic, i know...

but is there a list of mods? I had an issue where I needed some editing done for the sake of MH, and wasn't able to find a mod that was online. are they listed anywhere? I remember seeing something at the bottom of the page, but i don't see it now.

Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength-
