Is it just me....or is the price of a used bike in this town rediculous?

I'm just casually browsing random forums and the Cycle trader and the price for a fair condition late model supersport is simply insane! 5 year old R1/R6's and GSX-R's asking 6-7000+?!

I guess it's good if you're selling one.

I'm trying to find a straight bike(something that hasn't been ran into a wall and had the head all tweeked) to build into track bike but I may have to go out of state to find something for a fair price.

Best bet, find a bike that's already a track bike and buy it. Unless you're chasing contingency, don't waste your money converting a new(ish) bike.

If you want a good track bike, best bet is to get one built, but most racers will buy a salvaged bike from an auction (PM "Gabe" on this bbs). It's the cheapest way to get a late model bike on to the track.

I've got an '07 zx10 with 1,200miles and a few mods (exhaust, gpr damper, chain adjusters, spare wheels and tires, etc.) for $9,500...

Seems like a steal, eh?

Buy it please...

is it because america's birth rate has skyrocketed due to motorcyclists impregnating (sp?) all the women because of the cool factor they get when they buy a bike?

...and with spring just around the corner, you will only see those prices go up and up and up....best time to buy is early January when people still make payments on their bikes, and receive those CC bills for Christmas shopping in December. Be prepared to drive to pick it up, but you will often save a ton of money.
