the thing about coke (and similar uppers) is that they are often looked down upon even by other casual drug users (potheads), so those who do it, often do so in secret or in tight circles. to some, the secrecy is part of the allure.

in most circles of friends potheads can be fairly open about their habit, without too much passing of judgement, but someone who uses coke is always going to be looked at as a junkie/crackhead by those who dont do it.

so to answer the OP, in some circles its the "popular" thing to do and perfectly acceptable. its like a secret way of life. but it is kept secret and is taboo to talk about around people outside the circle. if you dont know someone does it, and you make a comment like "coke users are junkies" they wont argue. they will even agree with you about it!
a lot of what you said is right out some research i've read on drug use. different drugs have different social rituals, associated behaviors, etc. i know lots of polydrug users, and i've dabbled myself, and i've observed the same things. you're right about it being hard on the body. i'm amazed by people who can do that stuff every day and keep a job/family going. but yeah, it's evil and it's much funner riding on acid anyways.

Way back......there wasn't much I didn't try. Now......I won't look at a bike if I have even one drink.
And I have an ex-wife that still gets high daily.......one way or another....and lives in her car. :/:

Smoking pot then riding actually is not enjoyable for me. Once I lost the feeling in my legs and couldn't tell if I was shifting or not. Weird....

Never tried coke, don't want to. I'm not going to say shame on people that do it, but it's probably not a smart choice.

Smoking a J every once in a while is just like having a drink. Coke is a whole different story. Stay off the streets if you do that , please.

I really don't look down on anyone who has been down that road. Getting trapped can happen to anyone. I knew a couple of doctors and an accountant who all became broke within 3 years, who you would never in a million years think they would get close to it, from how they carried their lives up until that first experience. Scary when it comes to Coke. It's the devil, once your out of control.
