Katy track membership

Any of you mini guys here have a membership to the katy kart track? I am looking into building a mini, and am interested in getting a membership at the track. Curious if any mini's make it out to the track on non TMGP days. Would be fun to get a couple of minis out there for some lapping.

a few guys have memberships...

I have been out there several times on non TMGP days. It's a lot of fun. Let me know if you ever need someone to go out there with.

Just remember that it is a Kart track. If they start showing up it is usally time to take a break or go home.

Hopefully within the next month or two I will have a mini up and running, and will be joining that track. It would be fun to have a mini day every now and then, to run against some other guys. I imagine there are only so many laps you can do by yourself before it gets old. I got to get on the ball though and start my mini build, the new track expansion got me excited!

What are you building up?

I'd run out there with you. The karters have always been really friendly with us everytime I've been out there.

I like the additions to the track as well.

I got a membership, but I need to see when it expires.
I plan on getting out there as soon as I get the bike back together.

I am going to be building an 85 of some flavor. Still don't have the bike yet, although I am close on a couple. Leaning towards a CR, since that was what I had last, and know how much of a wild ride it was!

Don't do an 85. You can't run in TMGP endurance which would be the whole reason to practice at Katy.

I am going to race some TMGP, but that is not my main focus for building the mini. I am looking for a play bike, which is my main reason for the membership at katy, simply some track time. I also might run some of the OSB races if I get the chance.

I thought about it a lot, 65 vs 85, and wanted a full size (or more so) bike. I like the way the 85 fits me and that I am not cramped up on a smaller chassis.

Thanks for the suggestion though, I did have to think about that decision for a little while, but I think I would be happier with an 85 simply for the grin factor.

If everything goes well, I should be picking up a kx85 tomorrow that is pretty much already built for the track. It will still need some work, but I will be able to get it on the track as is. So hopefully by the end of March I will get a membership and will be game for a little mini action.
