electric companies revisted

so i got a letter in the mail from reliant saying that they're gonna automatically change my plan to one of those plans based on average gas prices. so i need to do something i've been putting off for a while, search for a possible new electricity provider. i remembered a thread put up a while ago about who has what, but couldn't find it. so....who has what and are you pleased with what you have? I'm considering TXU, but it's like some other companies are coming out the wood work. Anyone deal with Amigo Energy? Thanks for your input!

I'm using StarTex. 1yr contract and .12/kwh. Reliant was charging me .15/kwh. I've had them for about 7mos with no problems. They're not the Greenest company but not too bad either.

Apparently TXU has this loyalty program. Last month I was shocked when receive a $14 Visa gift card in the mail. I didn't do anything but pay my bill. They give you a certain percentage of cash back every January. I forgot what the percentage was. I'm paying $.12/kwh and no contract. Beats being with Reliant.

DONT SWITCH TO TXU ENERGY

sorry, its just that I did sales for the a while back and a lot of my customers ended up getting screwed by them. Just an FYI. they had a lot of problems with billing and the correct addresses.

i went with gexa. ive got a 11.3 rate for 12 month term and they are reliable.

Hit up power to choose, you can do all the research you want there on prices, most of them are up-to-date as well. but now would be a good time to get energy rates low cuz as soon as spring/summer hits rates are going to go up again

and best of all get a contract that gives you a fixed rate for like 12 or 24 months, dont go variable, it doesnt save you any money

Cell reliant, ask them what plans they have...then call and ask others too.

My buddy sells energy for ignite. Check it out. He isn't a MH person but if you are interested they have consistantly low rates.

Here is a chart of prices of the different providers.

I have not verified any of it, so you will have to do your own comparison. If you want to purchase from them, visit this site.

All energy prices will go up within the next quarter. the energy market is taking a big hit right now. Market share is in turmoil which makes the shareholders nervous. which makes them sell. which makes the companies raise rates to show
profit comparable or greater to the same quarter last year.

Try to get fixed rate. but make sure that fixed rate but make sure the fixed rate is less than what you are paying if you go variable.

Tera energy is the best bet right now.

National Power Company is what I've been thinking about switching to, I've heard a lot of good things about them. WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT GO WITH GEXA!!!!!

Deregulation sucks. I read in the Chron a few month back that after deregulation was enacted, our rates rose fast than 47 other states. That's even with the increasing cost of fuel.
