joined the navy today

i did alot of thinking and out of the branches of the military i looked into the navy was best for me. i got sworn in and took the oath earlier today, just got to get my vision corrected then i will be changing my job to aviation rescue swimmer or fleet diver. i was told both those jobs are in a great need so there are open spots once i get my vision corrected. going in to basic as an E-3 for being an Eagle Scout which is very nice

i will leave for basic in june, june 16th as of right now, it may change once i change my job.
im pretty fawkin stoked

ummm... Brandy (Squoddy), Navy people generally get stationed on Navy bases, not Air Force Bases. If you want to go to Hawaii, ask for Pearl Harbor, not Hickam

Since you haven't gone to boot camp yet I'll save the Navy jokes for later

Right, good point. Robert was Marine, though, and stationed on Hickam.

He must have gotten lost, he belonged over in Kaneohe! That's on the other side of the island!

Oh no my friend, I wouldn't have any jokes as nice as that. I'm in the Coast Guard and I've already been to two months of Navy dive school. I'm well prepared to defend myself (even if it did cost me a lot of push ups). It's like a sibling rivalry for adults.

Not lost, had a super - secret job. His building was an old hangar with no windows and walls 3' thick of concrete. I wasn't allowed in that building. He had SCI clearance.

Pear Harbour is nice ... but the Marines have it better at K-Bay ... spent a lot of time at both as well as Hickam.

Anyway, good luck and thanks in advanced for your service.

Ohhh... That's funny cause I was going to mention my Ex too. She worked in a super secret job and all the services were in there. I think I told you about her, she got turned down for an assignment because she can't go undercover to the same region of the world so soon after her last undercover job. For real! She works in Kunia, under the mountian.

Oh, before I forget, thanks for signing up and serving. I hope you enjoy your time in the service as much as I have enjoyed mine.

One suggestion. If you get on a ship, when you pull into port don't waste the experience getting $hitfaced drunk.

That, and buy a good camera!
