Guys, although Ed sometimes goes about it poorly, he's really not trying to bust anyones .
I think he's just trying to make everyone a bit more conscious of the reality of our chosen sport.

IMO, it's all playing the odds.
If you travel 60k miles without incident, the odds are you may have one, even if it's not one of your choosing / your blame.

Same thing in other circumstances; if you ride too fast for the road conditions, or run with the squid crew, your chances of meeting the pavement prematurely go up. It's that simple.

btw, Racer X isn't trying to convince us he's invincible. On the contrary, he's pushing the fact that we are ALL not invincible, and we need to ride smart, since the odds are stacked against us as it is.

He's got 60k because he practices what he preaches. Maybe we should all just listen and learn, rather than get all defensive about it.

IMO, for those that "don't get it", RACER X is trying to remind everyone that the majority of rider down threads could have been prevented by being a more careful/responsible rider on the street...slowing down, paying attention to road conditions, traffic conditions, etc.

Kudos to ya' (RACER X) for caring about the riders and their safety, but I think you're wasting your time....they just "don't get it".

If he can make 1 person not end up on that list this year, or any other year. Then it will be worth it. He is the only person on this list who diligently preaches about MSF, etc. yet is always ridiculed for it... Its a shame really.

From my POV, I don't see any "belittling" going on. Maybe some bluntness, and yes, even some arrogance (lol, Racer X) , but who cares? Don't take it personally, bros. Take it for what it is... the reality of our chosen sport.

If you're taking this a little too personally, you need to ask yourself what is triggering you to react that way?

people i dont see anywhere that racerx said hes better than anyone or rubbing it in anyones faces ...

i love examples even if this is a bad one

an electrician has been working work 43534 years doing what he does and has seem many new electricians die/get hurt because of mistakes that can be prevented. and he "CARES" about the safety of other electricians

so he host a seminar to warn other electricians some common mistakes
and points out some mistakes other electricians have made

is this guy a bad guy for doing that

me personally when i read about threads from people going down i read what happens and try and learn from their mistakes so i dont make the same
