The MSF is an awesome course and is very helpful for all riders.

Then you can come and join in with LSTD for some track time to hone your skills.

With people buying new bikes in record numbers and not going through proper training it will happen more.

Maybe there should be a mandate that people take MSF before they can remove a bike from the lot. I doubt this thread will affect anyone other than the people who's names are on the list or the people who cared about the names on the list.

Focus on the other threads new riders, the ones with safe riding tips. There are quiet a few of them on MH and other forums. Take MSF too, you will learn to be safer.

New riders can me more than a statistic.

Not everything is avoidable, I believe there are paths we take that cross other paths and that will change your live forever.
I would definitely prefer a more positive thread than this... I think SOMEONE is focusing on the wrong thing and needs to promote safe riding threads and MSF instead of "this guy wrecked so can you". Of course our hobby is dangerous and even more dangerous when mixed with other people on the street. We know we are human and I know when I get on my bike it is a risk... A thread or course in risk assessment would help more than making a list of people who made mistakes or were at the wrong place at the wrong time.

I'm not being a d*ck....I'm for real....Ed uses some not so nice ways of making his POV. I agree MSF is a great TOOL to help riders advance their skills, but rubbing it in the face of others is a sh*tty way to prove a point....

I have at least 40k (if not 60) under my belt....I don't run around laughing at those who have failed to prove my point. Does that make sense?

Why do you assume every other rider but you thinks they are invincible? Why do you act like every sport bike rider speeds and acts like a fool on the street? Not everyone acts like an , so stop acting holier-than-thou.

I haven't went down b/c I ride very defensive. I don't think I'm invincible either considering the friend I lost back in October. I've taken my MSF but that doesn't change the fact that sometimes HAPPENS and cars don't see bikes. Do you think the cases where the bike was blindsided was the rider's fault?

You make it out as if ANYTIME a rider goes down, it's their fault, they were acting like , they were going too fast, they were doing something wrong, etc.

This isn't always the case so get off your high horse. You're better than NO ONE else.

Sure, most can. He acts like ALL are rider error/fault. I don't like that he constantly insinuates this. I can't stand people that group everyone into ONE category. He does it a LOT.

but this is getting off topic again.

10 of the 16 crashed riders were riding over their heads, and most of the 6 others i don't really know about.

IMO, they're "accidents".
Some are avoidable, some are not.

Hopefully by seeing how many people have went down this year alone may raise everyones awareness, and possibly avoid additional accidents.

However, if you find yourself riding with a group that regularly has accidents, especially accidents with long term / life changing injuries, you may want to ask yourself; "Will I be next?"

A saying I grew up with comes to mind;
"There are 2 types of motorcycle riders; those that have been down, and those that will go down. Some get back on, some don't, and some can't."

Anything that we as riders can do to minimize our exposure and maximize our protection will pay off in the end.

so by that logic, someone with over 80k accident free can criticize/belittle you and kick you in the nuts for any infraction or mistake?
