La Grange

My mom is looking at starting up a Saturday meet in La Grange like every 2nd Saturday of the month. We were trying to get a feel of how much interest there would be? She has talked to Riders in Austin, and there is one guy on the forum she has talked to also from the area. If it grows big enough, they have tossed around the idea for bands and maybe catering and stuff. I know you guys get together to ride to Fayetteville on a regular basis. How would meeting in LG on the square with other riders sound?

They have even talked about setting up rides each time down different back roads as a group?

if the ride is well organized, i could see it being a HUGE success. Everyone should take a 2 hour cruise outside of houston every now and again.

I like riding to LH7 ranch in bandera.....beautiful riding.

Good riding to and around La Grange. I'd be in depending on scheduling.

Yea 71 sucks, but you should never hit 71. The best route from NW side is 529 to Bellville down 159, and then hang a left on 237 into town. I-10 and 71 would be a waste of a trip unless you wanted to see how fast you could get there on the freeway.

Just FYI, my mom owns the coffee shop in LG, and there are a few good places to eat there. Or some of the guys stop in Fayetteville to eat on the square. I will keep you updated on where she goes with it.

Routes out there shouldn't include more than a jump across the major 4-laners and freeways. There's plenty of winding routes that would be fun for any kind of bike.

talking about getting in LG around lunchish. I'm sure not everyone would be in one riding group. But yea, thinking about having it mid day so there is time to get home. Don't forget, time changes soon anyways.

Im betting that the guys that do that dont have time to stop/dont want to stop. Im betting they would rather ride than hang out :dontknow:

Not knocking it though.

Yea prause's. They have decent food. That is one of the reasons they were thinking about doing it on Saturday. On Sundays, lots of places are closed in small towns like ours. I think they plan on doing this even if there isn't a big following from Houston as most of them are older cruiser style people, but it is nice to have a good mix of people showing up. Even if it is 5-10 of the people off this forum, added with the others, it could turn out pretty welll and just get bigger from there.
