in steak you can tell the diff. aged meat vs off the rack.

IMO you can't tell w/ sushi & sashimi.

The fish for sashimi *must* be sashimi-grade.

Martin, has sushi m&g gone anywhere?

fools...this Hawaiian loves the sushi...

there's a HUGE difference between buffet sushi and at the bar sushi...difference in selection, imitation crab vs. real, time frame between when it was prepared and meets your mouth, and so on.

i also make my own rolls.

for the budget sushi i typically make egg, carrot, and canned tuna rolls. They are rather colorful and taste good, on the cheap.

But then again, I also make spam musubi, which is basically a spam roll!

i been to kubos and they have good (large sized) nigiri pieces but i dont like their rolls/handrolls

i like azuma...

also osaka

also happy hour miyako is OK. I mean quality there is better than buffet and happy hour prices are just ridiculous - $1 a piece.
