Question For Patrick

I started noticeing smoke from my 2000 R1 it only has 8000 miles on it and runs good and pulls hard.I am the original owner I was thinking valve stem seals or something in the head. No way its rings with only 8000 miles on it.
Your thoughts are always apreciated.

8k might be time for a valve adjustment. You're the original owner, have you done that yet?

This is Jim one of the trainers there. Man I should have known you rode bikes but I didn't. Man we need to get out and ride some time. When the weather's good I ride my bike to the club pretty often.

Blue black. You think rings with only 8000 miles on it. Man I hope not. Ive got buddys with r1 s with 25000 on them and no smoke or ring problems.

Also important to note it runs smooth and hard and is not fouling plugs.

If it's blue/black you might just have a fuel mixture problem. Could be running rich. I guess air filter is clean? Hopefully not an injector getting stuck open. But maybe.

Patrick might not be awake yet. He'll come along though.

Air filter dirty / clogged, oil in the airbox from too many wheelies or it's overfull, choke is stuck, bad load of fuel.
Those are some things to check.
If none of them pan out, bring it by and we'll check it out, no charge.
