You and the bike should draw a line in the sand, and ask her which side is she on!

if you feel strong enough about it to be and joking about choosing the bike over her then i think maybe your relationship isn't strong enough for marriage.

FTR, i want a bike so bad but i am still terrified everytime D leaves on his. Because of all the crazy cagers out there. maybe you and her need to take the time to get to the reason why she wants you to sell it. she obviously didn't have that big of a problem with it when you got it/she got with you.

I would never ask my fiance to sell his gsxr...I like it too much, it's kind of a part of him, if anything I would want him to buy me one...but only as a gift

imho:

I think guys here are right in that the decision should be yours. Whether or not you want to keep the bike (or the gf)

I think motorcycling is pretty risky business. 37 times riskier than riding in a car. You yourself should be making the decision whether the payoff (in form of joy, fun, relaxation or whatever you get out of biking) is worth the risk (which is pretty high). Each of us should be making this decision individually. You can listen to the opinion of your gf (and/or your parents/relatives) who obviously thinks that it's not worth the risk, or listen to opinions of some of your fellow riders who obviously think that it's worth the risk.
The decision should still be *yours*!!!
Whatever you decide.
I won't tell you to dump your gixer or your fiancee. You should decide!

edit: i assume she wants you to sell it for risk reasons, not for financial reasons, right?

it only temporary - the subject will come up again and she will be even more adament the next time.

Women are like waiting at a bus stop - if you miss this one, another will be along in ten minutes. You may or may not want to get on the one that stops, but another will be along.

If the answer to all three questions are yes, then sell the fiance.

I you get rid of the bike you need to be prepared to let it go for good. Do you love her enough to make that kind of decision and commitment? If you keep the bike and get married anyway are you prepared to listen to her nag about it? These are the things that destroy marriages. Happiness turns to anguish and the next thing you know you are asking yourself, "Why on Earth did I marry that b@#$%! Make your decision wisely. For yourself and her as well.
