Anybody recommend T-rex stands?

Found a pair brand new for what seems to be a good price.
Cheaper than pit bulls, they just need to work.
What's important to look for in stands?

t-rex rear stand is good....but i wouldn't trust anything besides a pitbull for the front.

i have a t-rex rear stand...but it just sits in the corner for backup to work on friend's bikes....i keep it pimpin with the pitbull front and rear.

I have used both front and rear, not the best, but for the price and ocassional use they get the job done.

I have the T-rex front. It always bows and never sits on the ground flat. for $50, it works. If you can afford the pitbull, DO IT!

t-REX literature says it will be necessary to bend the stand outward so it sits flat. To me, thats BS quality.

I'll share my viewpoint on stands, gained from over 30 years of using everything from homemade stuff to Pitbulls;

The first time you drop your bike off a $50.00 stand because it flexed / bowed / flat gave out, you'll have more than spent the money you saved by not buying a good quality stand.

Pitbulls for the win!

i recommend them. while my bike was out for months from a little off road excursion 02 Gsxr 750 i had the bike up on the trex stands and down more times than i care to remember and i never had any problems with them bowing or sitting unlevel. IMHO they are a great deal for the price and worth it if you don't want the brand name pit bulls for triple the price!!

I leave mine on my pit bull stands f/r most the time. I can't say enough about the stability and strength of the pb stands. I say get em.

A customer brought his w/ his racebike to the shop.
It was the first time I had heard or sen one.
I was like "WHAT THE **** IS THAT THING!!!"
It is too wide and gets in the way.
I hate it, I'd rather use an LP rear stand.
PITBULL FTW!!!
Actually woodcraft has good stands too, but shipping from what is basically Canada is kinda pricey.

I did not get their latest revision of the stands. They have gone through about 3 revisions now (I had the second).

I was satisfied with them very much. Stable (rear more than front). Since then, they have even improved the rigidity.
The price is awesome, and in the kit they even include the 3ple tree extension. All for about 100 shipped or so.

If you are into getting only the best and nothing else cuts it type of stuff, then pitbull is your choice.

If on the other hand you are ok with not having the 'in' thing, then the trex will be great for you. The price diff is also a big gap between the two.
Good luck.

i had that issue but when i was assembling them i stepped on them and tight them up

no problems after that, very stable

Pitbull is not the "in" thing.

Mainly because the "in" thing is being as cheap as you can possibly be, by finding on the nininet that is a little cheaper than what so&so paid.

Buy the good stuff and buy it from your local shop!!! /RANT.OFF/

I understand where you are coming from. However most people have budgets to live on too, and 'supporting your local shop' only goes so far. The local shop does not pay one's bills. So at the end of the day, if a person has an x amount of money, they may not have enough for a pitbull set.
Saying the trex is a 'little cheaper' than pitbull is like saying a Corvette is a 'little cheaper' than a Lamborghini. When you look at the price tags you see the price of one is more than triple of the other.

A Lamborghini is a better quality than a Corvette, yet more people buy a corvette over the Lamborghini. Why? Most cannot afford one. Reasoning here is that the Corvette performance will be good enough for the money. Cost does impact decisions.

A newb that barely affords making payments on a bike, likely has not enough $$ to buy pitbulls for $300 bucks. A person does not have to get the best thing out there for a purpose, just something they think they can afford, and something that will do the job for them.

(this is not a rant, it is my opinion...you are free to have yours).

I'm not mad.

Just stating my opinion.

BTW- A corvette is closer to a Lambo than a Trex is to Pitbull, Woodcraft etc.. Actually, I think its better. Lambo's fall apart. :-)
